Systems Engineer

I work with automation, AI, and process design. Helping organisations understand where these technologies genuinely add value, and where they don’t.

The atmosphere around automation and AI is like the early days of the internet, full of opportunity but also confusion about where real value lies.

My work focuses on now helping organisations evaluate whether a process is worth automating, and in developing tools (some of which are themselves powered by AI) to help them make better more informed decisions.

We started Intelligency to help organisations decide where and when automation is the right solution to a problem. And, when it is, implement it in a way that reduces waste, adds value, and improves how work gets done.

Experience

I have experience of designing and building automations and AI agents that integrate numerous systems, both internal (company facing) and external (client facing).

My technical skills include:

vector stores and RAG
automation platforms (Make AI, n8n, Relevance AI)

Background

I spent 18 months developing a chatbot agent for the Tourism Industry, which gave me a great deal of experience in working with AI and integrating it to different systems (memory, database, API calls, caching).

For the last 17 years I have run a digital marketing consultancy called Find Me On The Internet . In that time I’ve worked with customers from all over the world, in many different markets: manufacturing, healthcare, software, property, shipping and financial services.

Over that time I developed skills in:

keyword research
technical SEO
content marketing
digital advertising
security, cookie compliance, and consent

Prior to digital marketing I worked in manufacturing, which gave me experience in processes mapping and Lean (which are, I think, precisely the skills that organisations need in the face of automation and AI).

My backgrounds in manufacturing, digital marketing, and AI has shaped a practical approach: understand the process first, then decide what (if anything) should be automated.

Personal

Outside of technology my passions in life are photography, water sports (ocean kayaking, SUP, snorkelling), and wind sports (kite surfing, winging). And, of course, making the most of living in Cornwall.
